MTV World Stage Presented by the Volkswagen 21st Century Beetle
On 18 April, MTV World Stage and Volkswagen rocked the world as we presented a series of exclusive live events to celebrate the unveiling of the Volkswagen 21st Century Beetle for the very first time. 3 events on 3 continents--Asia, Europe and USA--all on the same day. First, the Volkswagen 21st Century Beetle was revealed at the Motor Show in Shanghai followed by an exclusive MTV Sound System guest-hosted by MTV VJs. Then, a massive World Stage party took place in Berlin's historic ewerk with a headline DJ set by 2manydjs. Finally, global superstars The Black Eyed Peas took the stage in New York for an exclusive World Stage event.

With the 21st Century Beetle, Volkswagen continues writing the history of an automotive icon. The exterior of the 2012 Beetle is a modern interpretation of the original Beetle and connects design elements of the first one with the latest technology that will deliver the driving characteristics and individuality that define the Volkswagen brand.
